BOSTON - Boston 25 Meteorologists forecasted snow through the morning, lightening up considerably as the sun rises. We're on track for a widespread 2-5 inches of accumulation -- most of that fell overnight -- but there won't be a warm-up to help with the melting.

Driving conditions are still being impacted by the snow. As clear as roads may seem, use caution when getting around this morning as roads are still wet and covered in slush.

7:00 a.m.: The Winter Weather Advisory has been extended to 8 a.m. in the Boston area, North Shore and Merrimack Valley as snow will slowly change over into sleet and then freezing rain. A few flurries may linger at the coast through lunchtime, and even into the afternoon on the Cape and Islands.
6:30 a.m.: Roads are beginning to clear up, but snow will continue for the next couple of hours. Low temperatures will make clean-up harder and slower, so expect to see crews out for most of the day.
