New York (1010 wins)-A lawmaker provided an update on how many personal protective equipment there are in the city's 90-day COVID inventory on Thursday.
Congressman Ben Kallos tweeted a list of protective equipment announced at the joint hearing and the following question: "Is New York City enough?"
In our @NYCCouncil joint hearing, a 90-day #COVID19 personal protective equipment (PPE) was announced: 13.5 million N95 masks, 37 million Lvl 3 isolation suits, 54 million 3-layer surgical masks, 185 million nitrile Gloves, 900,000 goggles and 6M face shield. Question: Is #NYC enough?
In May, Mayor Bill de Blasio announced that the city will establish and maintain a 90-day PPE inventory, “to ensure that the city’s hospitals are capable of responding to the potential resurrection of COVID-19.”
The mayor announced that he will work hard to obtain enough PPE to pass a week. He said that once there is a 14-day supply on hand, the city will gradually increase inventory.
de Blasio said at the time: "We have been going to hell, fighting this virus back one by one every day." "But now is not the time to let go of our vigilance. We are planning to use every possible situation of COVID-19 to ensure our Hospitals and first-line heroes will have the reinforcements needed to save lives."
